Practical Applied Statistics

Practical Applied Statistics presents the foundational concepts of statistics in easy-to-understand language, illustrated with real-life business and capital markets applications. The course covers the basic measures of central tendency and dispersion and progresses to variance and correlation. Participants will learn how to calculate each measure and how to use Excel when performing practical applications. We conclude with regression analysis and derive the calculation underlying the financial concept of beta. For tailored in-house courses, we can build on this course to explore diversification and efficient portfolio construction.

A financial calculator and basic understanding of Excel are required.
